Fredericksburg is known for its first class Bed & Breakfast units. Whether it’s right on Main Street, or 10 miles out, guest love to book rooms here. The B&B business as a whole has undergone a huge transformation over the last several years. Most rentals no longer offer a home cooked breakfast on site; choosing to offer granola bars or a coupon to a local restaurant instead. Another big change is contactless check ins. Keyless door locks have made this possible by not requiring guest to pick up a key or to have to talk to anyone in order to check in. This usually makes for a nice easy check in, and allows guest to drop their belongings at the unit before heading out to dinner or a winery.
If you are considering purchasing a B&B in the Fredericksburg area, there are several things to consider. In Fredericksburg City Limits, you must purchase a permit and offer off street parking. You also have to consider if you will manage it yourself, or hire a management company to do the heavy lifting for you. Most owners choose to hire a management company because they take care of everything from photos, website, bookings, and cleaning. There are several great management companies in town; our best advice when choosing one is to interview 2 or 3 to make sure they offer everything you need for a successful B&B.
